Steve Baker, Master Gunnery Sergeant, USMC, Ret., is a husband of 27 years, father of six, grandfather of three (so far), and a graduate of American Military University with a degree in Transportation and Logistics Management. After serving his country as an active-duty Marine for 30 years, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and serving Veterans in the State of Missouri as an Employment Representative, Steve is well-prepared to serve again, this time as the State Representative for District 56.

Country – Steve stepped onto the yellow footprints at MCRD San Diego at the age of 17 and served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 30 years.
Missouri – Steve served as a Veterans Employment Representative for the State of Missouri after retiring from the Marine Corps.
District 56 – Steve is a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Belton and Raymore and serves as president of the Cass County Veterans Coalition.

Conservative values – Biblical principles, faith in God, and strong families are essential to preserving America as founded.
Safety – Criminals must be held accountable, and law enforcement deserves support and the resources needed to protect our community.
Low taxes – Individuals pursuing success combined with free-market forces are the best elements of our economy. Governments should take as little as possible from citizens and spend what they take wisely.
Veterans –The experience and leadership of Veterans are invaluable assets to our community, and in order to connect Veterans to each other and the resources available to them, Steve founded the Cass County Veterans Coalition.

Right to Life – Every human life is valuable and worthy of protection, from conception until natural death.
Education – Parents have the right to choose the type of education their children receive – public, private, or home school.
2nd Amendment – The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.
